We are seeking a highly motivated Bridge Field Engineer to join our team in Beaver Falls, PA. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience and skills to your portfolio on-site for an exciting bridge project, where you are responsible for overseeing and inspecting the work performed.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Provide technical support on concrete segmental bridge segment fabrication on behalf of the project owner including segment casting, geometry control, and post-tensioning
  • Ensure work is completed following plans and specifications and prepare daily written reports of construction activities with narratives that relate work completed to the contract documents
  • Verify quantities of unit price work, identify potential extra work issues, review contractor payment requests, and advise potential issues to the Resident Engineer
  • Prepare extra work estimates with associated documentation, maintain photographic records of site activities, and fulfill other required tasks

On top of that, you will have:

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • A Professional Engineer (P.E.) License in the home state
  • A minimum 4 years of experience inspecting construction work on complex projects with a value of at least $10 million
  • Prior experience working on transportation construction projects, specifically cast-in-place or precast segmental bridges
  • Certification in ASBI Grouting, PTI Level 1/2 Multistrand and Grouted PT Specialist, and ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician Grade 1 (considered an asset)
  • Completed OSHA 30-hour construction safety, fall protection, confined space, and permit-required confined space entry (considered an asset)
  • Ability to work collaboratively on a distributed team of engineers, contractors, and field personnel

Incentive: In addition to receiving a Completion Bonus, COWI will also cover the costs for the eligible candidate to obtain essential certifications, such as ASBI Grouting and PTI Level 1/2 Multistrand and Grouted PT Specialist, ensuring that you're equipped with the necessary qualifications to excel in your role!
